Hi there! My name is Erin Black, and I'm a registered Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work. I believe everyone has their unique story of struggles and strengths, and my goal is to provide authentic, relatable, and compassionate support.
I understand that seeking help can be difficult, and finding the right counsellor may feel overwhelming. That's why whether you have a specific concern, or need help navigating services or supports, I'm here to help. If you or someone you know is unsure about accessing counselling, or struggling to know what to do or where to turn, reach out for a free consult, even if my services aren't the right fit for you I'll try my best to make recommendations and point you in the right direction.
As a counsellor my goal is to work with you to address and resolve your concerns as fast as possible so that you can live a life of freedom and peace. I specialize in treating addictions and trauma and offer individual counselling services for ages 12+. I'm trained in several different therapies, including Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Most of my sessions include talk therapy and ART, I find this the most effective approach to accessing your innate inner wisdom while also processing and resolving concerns. I view our work together as a partnership and value your input, ideas, and feedback.
When I'm not counselling, I love spending time outdoors, taking in the beauty of rural Alberta or just hanging out with my teen daughter. I'm an animal lover and have two Australian Shepherds, four cats and one horse. I also enjoy skidooing and skiing and taking pictures of those beautiful Alberta skies. (Side note most of the pictures on this website are taken by me)
