Hello!
Before delving into my education and qualifications, I want to highlight what truly matters when choosing a therapist: connection and comfort. I take pride in my ability to forge genuine relationships with my clients, ensuring they feel at ease and supported. My authenticity is at the heart of how I work, fostering an environment where you can feel truly comfortable and understood.
I am a Counselling Therapist and Addiction Counsellor with the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA). I am also a Certified Master Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) Practitioner with the Rosenzweig Center for Rapid Recovery.
With over 16 years of experience working with both youth (12 +) and adults in Alberta, I’ve had the opportunity to support individuals through a wide range of mental health challenges. While I am trained and experienced in various therapeutic modalities, I focus predominantly on A.R.T. because of its rapid and effective results.
Initially, I was skeptical about A.R.T. (as you may be too!), but the immediate relief I’ve experienced personally and the positive transformations I've seen in my clients have been remarkable. This has fueled my passion for private practice and my commitment to making this powerful therapy accessible to everyone. My aim is to offer comfortable, efficient, and barrier-free services to those facing mental health or addiction struggles.
A Little About Me
I grew up in a small town in Alberta and now live on an acreage with my husband and our 7-year-old son. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, traveling, camping, skiing, and working out. I’m known for being loyal, genuine, and compassionate, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know people.
What Makes Me Different?
What you see is what you get with me. I’m genuine and approachable—no stuffy suits here! I prefer a casual jeans-and-t-shirt style and often sit cross-legged during our sessions (comfort is important). While I can be direct when needed, I’m also attuned to when a softer approach is more appropriate.
At Prairie Sunrise Counselling, we schedule 90-minute sessions with built-in buffer time to ensure that you never feel rushed and can fully benefit from each session.
If you’re unsure whether my services are the right fit for you, feel free to reach out via email or text for a complimentary 20-minute consultation.
